| Welcome! |
Welcome to Chippenham Churches Together.

What you’ll find here is no more than an outline of all that’s going on in the churches in and around Chippenham. I hope you’ll be encouraged to look further for activities and information that interest you.

Following the Forum on 18th June, the executive have been given plenty of food for thought and action. Not least is the challenge to bring some fundamental thoughts to bear on the constitution and the practicalities of carrying out our mission. The Constitution was last reviewed in 2000, and whilst it expresses hopes for the churches to work together as Christ’s Church should, we may need to recognise that the way forward may not quite be as we saw it then.

The new Vision and Mission Statement, About Us has now been around for a couple of months, and I hope it will be accepted by the AGM at the next Forum on 2nd October. Inevitably it will have a bearing on the shape of the constitution, and we’ll be looking for discussion to help us arrive at an enthusiastically accepted rewording for adoption in twelve months’ time.

The vision requires CCT to be more proactive in its role of promoting the work of Chippenham’s churches, and thought needs to be given to the way the work will be funded. Should it be a matter of asking churches to offer some degree of extra financial support? And what would they get for their money? The present level of subscriptions does no more than allow the organisation to exist; is that what Christ really wants? Although voting is confined to representatives, discussion is open to all, so please come along and join in. Your views and experience are important

| The changes in the clergy team serving Chippenham are proceeding and we’re pleased to welcome four new church leaders. Captain Lisa Goble came to the Salvation Army on 9th August; Rev David Alderman and Rev Elaine Rawlings start in the Chippenham Methodist Circuit on 1st September, and finally Rev Georgina Brotherton begins at Tabernacle United Reformed Church on 7th September, sharing her ministry with Malmesbury URC. We pray for them all as they serve the Lord through the churches of Chippenham. |

Finally, this month’s appeals for help;

|
 |
 |
Cafe Base at Sheldon Road urgently needs more helpers from other churches if it is to avoid a reduction in outreach. Can you spare one or two hours a month? Contact Rachel Flynn.

Doorway continues to flourish - that means more help please, at the Salvation Army
